    Niantic Farmer's Market - Every Thursday Afternoon

    Come join the fun as Niantic Main Street hosts their 7th season of the Niantic Farmers' Market. The market features local vendors who fill the market space (i.e., Methodist St) as they do every year with an array of fresh and local produce, pies, breads, plants, herbs, greens, hummus, pork, jams, jellies, prepared foods, native wool, coffee, fresh-filled cannoli's and much, much more.
    The Niantic Farmers Market located on Methodist Street between Pro Tek Auto and Niantic Cinemas and will run every Thursday from 3 to 6:00 p.m. until October 13th.

    McCook's Beach Summer Concert Series

    Come and enjoy music on the McCook’s Beach performed by some great local musicians on Wednesday evenings in August from 6-8 PM. Bring a picnic dinner, watch the sun set and enjoy some great tunes all while relaxing on the beach with family and friends. No beach pass is required after 5:00 PM to enter the park!
    Details of performers will be posted as they become available.
    The concerts are weather dependent, and cancellations will be posted by 3:00 PM on the day of the performance on the East Lyme Park and Recreation Facebook page:

    The Smith-Harris House is open for visitors for the summer season! Tours are every hour on the half-hour, starting at 12:30 pm; last tour at 3:30 pm. A 45-minute guided tour of the Greek-Revival farmhouse demonstrates the family and agricultural lives of the Avery, Smith, and Harris families through the 1840s and into the mid-20th century!     McCook's Beach - Sounds at Sunset Concert Series

    Concerts are returning to McCook Point Park this summer on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00 PM! Concert goers can make themselves comfortable right on McCook’s Beach as the bands will be located in the lower parking lot. The series will run from August 3rd through August 31st. No parking pass will be needed for concertgoers arriving after 5:00 PM, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and beverages. No alcohol is permitted in town parks.     Music Feeding Music – Summer Music Series - FINAL SHOW

    Come join the fun on Friday night, September 2nd from 7:00 pm till 9:00 at Pro Tek Auto’s Music Feeding Music Summer Music Series. This week’s scheduled artisit is:
    Sept 2 – Paul Lussier Band 7-9 pm.
    The Paul Lussier band is back to end our 2016 season! Concerts are held on the Pro Tek Auto’s Stage (315 Main St., Niantic) and are free to attend.

    Family Movie Night @ McCooks Park

    The East Lyme Parks and Recreation Department will once again host "Family Movie Nights at McCook's Park" on Friday nights during the month of September. Movies will take place at the top of McCook's beginning at sunset. So bring a picnic dinner, meet your new school friends and enjoy some great movies with family and friends. No beach passes will be required.
    Details of movies will be posted as they become available.
    Lastly, Family Movie Nights are weather dependent, and cancellations will be posted by 3:00 PM on the day of the movies on the East Lyme Park and Recreation Facebook page:

    Smith-Harris House - A Quilting Tea

    September 18th from 1 pm to 3 pm; $15 per person​
    Registration open to Friends of Smith-Harris House members beginning August 1st. Registration opens to general public beginning August 15th
    Spend the afternoon with savories, sweets, and tea while enjoying a featured talk and Power Point on the history and care of quilts with textiles expert Susan J. Jerome. Each participant is welcome to bring ONE quilt for Ms. Jerome to identify, and to learn about its age and origin. Cost of the program also includes an optional tour of the Smith-Harris House. Reservations required, but space is limited, so please be sure to register early.

    3rd Annual Black Sheep Oyster Festival

    Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Black Sheep Oyster Festival. If you thought prior year's events were great, this year's event promises to be bigger and better. This relatively new end-of-summer Niantic event is sure to be another crowd pleaser with local Oyster Farmers onsite, Oyster Shucking Contest, Irish Step Dancers, Oyster inspired menu items, Guinness Pint Specials, Live Music, Prizes & Giveaways and a whole lot more. This year's Black Sheep Guinness Oyster Festival takes place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 beginning at 12:00 noon at The Black Sheep Irish Pub located at 247 Main St., Niantic.

    East Lyme - Bike & BBQ

    A new event is coming to town for cyclists! Join us at Rocky Neck State Park and challenge yourself with one of five rides ranging from the 10 Mile Historical House Tour, to the “Horrible Hundred” 100 Mile ride. Once you’ve complete the ride, a BBQ meal will be provided in the park. Registration includes the ride of choice, BBQ meal, and event t-shirt. Proceeds from this event will benefit historic places and open spaces in town through the following groups: East Lyme Land Trust, East Lyme Historical Society, Friends of Samuel Smith House, Friends of Smith Harris House, Friends of Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve.

    Niantic Village Halloween Parade

    Come one, come all, to one of the most highly entertaining events in town ~ the annual Niantic Village Halloween Parade.
    The parade will take place on Sunday, October 30th, 2016 beginning at 1:00 p.m., when children are welcome to browse the downtown shops for "Tricks and Treats".
    Among the parade's signature highlights is the always popular Halloween Parade which will begin at 2:00 p.m.. Children should gather at Hole-in-the-Wall beach parking lot (which is where the parade begins). Candy for the kids and costume prizes will be awarded.
    This event is sponsored by the East Lyme Parks & Rec Dept. along with promotional support of the Niantic Main Street organization and the downtown Niantic local businesses who donate candy and snacks for the children.     Come honor and remember our veterans at a Veterans Day Observance on Friday, November 11, 2016. Festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the Liberty Green (downtown Niantic - corner of Main St. and Pennsylvania Ave.). In the event of rain, the vigil will move to the American Legion facility on York Ave.

    13th Annual Holiday Stroll

    Come kick-start your holiday season in Niantic at the 13th Annual Niantic Main Street Holiday Stroll. This family-friendly day features horse-drawn carriage rides, complimentary hot cider and cocoa on the green, a "Snow-Flake Drop" featuring discounts and giveaways at local shops and restaurants, and last, but not least, the arrival of Santa on a shiny red fire truck just in time for a tree lighting ceremony beginning at 5:00 pm on Liberty Green in the heart of Niantic Village.
    The fun takes place on Saturday, November 26th from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

    Children can bring their yearly letters and wish lists to Santa for bringing back to the North Pole, or they can stop in to the Children's Museum to craft their letter. Visits with Santa are free; parents are encouraged to bring a camera to capture the moment.

    The day also provides a great opportunity to begin your holiday shopping as many of the local businesses will be open offering holiday sales and discounts. So, come early and escape the big box malls and crowed parking lots and help support the small and local merchants who make shopping small ~ BIG! Join us and support small business!
    Volunteers and local merchants will once again join forces to capture the spirit of the season in this picturesque small-town celebration. Stroll organizers will again provide the local merchant “Snowball Drop” which provides snow ball recipients to special doscounts and offers at local businesses.

    It’s a rare occasion when almost everyone gets to be a ‘winner’ and it’s just a lot of fun for the strollers and the retailers. Throughout the evening, local businesses and restaurants will offer refreshments and special discounts and giveaways. Additional children’s activities and crafts will be coordinated by East Lyme Youth Services.

    Niantic / East Lyme Light Parade (Saturday night)

    SAVE THE DATE as New England's largest and brightest Light Parade will return for 2016.
    Celebrating its 28th anniversary in 2016, the Annual East Lyme / Niantic Light Parade is the largest holiday light parade in all of New England, and maybe one of the most unique events you will find anywhere.
    The 2016 Niantic/East Lyme Light Parade will be held on
    Saturday night December 10th at 6:00 p.m.
    (with a Rain Date of Sunday, December 11th at 5:00 p.m.)
