    Niantic Farmer's Market - Every Thursday from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

    Come join the fun as Niantic kicks off the 6th season of the Niantic Farmers' Market! Local vendors will fill the market space as they do every year with an array of fresh and local produce, pies, breads, plants, herbs, greens, hummus, pork, jams, jellies, prepared foods, native wool, coffee, fresh-filled cannoli's and much, much more.
    The Niantic Farmers Market is located on Methodist Street between Pro Tek Auto and Niantic Cinemas and will run every Thursday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. until October 8th.

    Niantic Bay Triathlon

    East Lyme will once again serve as host site for the 2015 Niantic Bay Triathlon. The triathlon will be held on Sunday, August 2nd beginning at 07:30 a.m. and features a 1/2 mile swim, 12-mile bike, and a 3.5 mile run through scenic East Lyme with water views and shaded streets. The Niantic Bay Triathlon is a flat, sprint distance race. Come support the athletes, shop for that special gift and dine at one of our many great shoreline restaurants in town.

    Smith-Harris House - Antique Motorcycle Show

    Come and enjoy the history of coolness on two wheels! View antique motocycles, then vote for your favorite to receive the People's Choice Award! Tours of the house and music concerts included. Cycle equipment, enthusiast, and food vendors will be on-site to sell their wares. This event will be held on Sunday, August 9th (rain of shine) from 10 am to 3:30 pm, $10 per person.     Niantic Main Street is happy to once again sponsor their Annual Bargains by the Bay Tent and Sidewalk Sale August 13-16, 2015.   • Smith-Harris House - House Tours (June thru August)

    The Smith-Harris House is open for visitors for the summer season (June thru August). Tours are on Fridays through Sundays, every hour on the half-hour, starting at 12:30 pm; last tour at 3:30 pm (closed 4th of July weekend). A 45-minute guided tour of the Greek-Revival farmhouse demonstrates the family and agricultrual lives of the Avery, Smith, and Harris families through the 1840s and into the mid-20th century! Discover what East Lyme was like around the time of the Civil War and afterwards!

    2nd Annual Black Sheep Oyster Festival

    Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Black Sheep Oyster Festival. If you thought last year's event was great, just wait for this year's event which promises to be bigger and better than last years. This new end-of-summer Niantic event is sure to be another crowd pleaser with 4 local Oyster Farmers, Oyster Shucking Contest, Prizes & Giveaways, Drink Specials, live music, and a whole lot more. This new fun local event takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 beginning at 11:00 am at The Black Sheep Irish Pub located at 247 Main St., Niantic.

    Niantic Village Halloween Parade

    Come one, come all, to one of the most highly entertaining events in town ~ the annual Niantic Village Halloween Parade.
    The parade will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m., when children are welcome to browse the downtown shops for "Tricks and Treats".
    Among the parade's signature highlights is the always popular Halloween Parade which will begin at 2:00 p.m.. Children should gather at Hole-in-the-Wall beach parking lot (which is where the parade begins). Candy for the kids and costume prizes will be awarded.
    This event is sponsored by the East Lyme Parks & Rec Dept. along with promotional support of the Niantic Main Street organization and the downtown Niantic local businesses who donate candy and snacks for the children.     CMSECT Spooky Science Event

    Calling all witches, wizards, warlocks, goblins and ghouls! Join us for A Night at the Museum: Spooky Science. Have a gas watching our amazing dry ice science experiments such as our crystal ball and levitating bubbles, then help to make a tasty witches brew! Participate in spooktacular science demonstrations using our Van De Graaff generator, and join us for our slime workshop and potions class. Don’t forget to make your own wizard or witch wand to take home! You won’t want to miss this ghostly time!
    This event will take place on Friday, Oct. 30th, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Children's Museum of Southeastern CT (409 Main Street, Niantic).

    Veterans Day Observation

    Come honor and remember our veterans at a Veterans Day Observance on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the Liberty Green (downtown Niantic - corner of Main St. and Pennsylvania Ave.). In the event of rain, the vigil will move to the American Legion facility on York Ave.

    12th Annual Holiday Stroll

    Come kick-start your holiday season in Niantic at the 12th Annual Niantic Main Street Holiday Stroll. This family-friendly day features horse-drawn carriage rides, professional holiday carolers strolling the quaint shop-lined streets of Niantic, complimentary hot cider and cocoa on the green, a "Snow-Flake Drop" featuring discounts and giveaways at local shops and restaurants, and last, but not least, the arrival of Santa on a shiny red fire truck just in time for a tree lighting ceremony beginning at 5:00 pm on Liberty Green in the heart of Niantic Village.
    The fun takes place on Saturday, November 28th from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

    Children can bring their yearly letters and wish lists to Santa for bringing back to the North Pole, or they can stop in to the Children's Museum to craft their letter. Visits with Santa are free; parents are encouraged to bring a camera to capture the moment.

    The day also provides a great opportunity to begin your holiday shopping as many of the local businesses will be open offering holiday sales and discounts. So, come early and escape the big box malls and crowed parking lots and help support the small and local merchants who make shopping small ~ BIG!   Join us and support small business!
    Volunteers and local merchants will once again join forces to capture the spirit of the season in this picturesque small-town celebration. Stroll organizers will again provide the local merchant “Snowball Drop” which provides snow ball recipients to special doscounts and offers at local businesses.
    Additional details will be published as they become available, so please revist this listing for future Holday Stroll updates.
    It’s a rare occasion when almost everyone gets to be a ‘winner’ and it’s just a lot of fun for the strollers and the retailers. Throughout the evening, local businesses and restaurants will offer refreshments and special discounts and giveaways. Additional children’s activities and crafts will be coordinated by East Lyme Youth Services.

    Niantic / East Lyme Light Parade (Saturday night)

    Celebrating its 27th anniversary in 2015, the Annual East Lyme / Niantic Light Parade is the largest holiday light parade in all of New England, and maybe one of the most unique events you will find anywhere.
    This year's Niantic / East Lyme Light Parade will be held on
        Saturday night December 12th at 6:00 p.m.
